The following was taken from the Yorkshire Regiment website

Died 30 May 1918. France & Flanders. He was born in Yarm but enlisted in Bishop Auckland and his wife is recorded as living there. He is on the Bishop Auckland Roll of Honour in St Andrews Parish Church

Yarm1914 believe that John Joseph was born in Yarm in 1877 and lived in Silver Street. When he was 24 in 1901 he had lost his father and was a warehouseman living with his mother and six lodgers in the Silver Street house. He married Annie Jane Smith from Stockton on 22 January 1906 at Stokesley registry Office and started a family. They had three sons whilst living in Yarm, John in 1907, Edward Oswald who died before he was 4 and Eric Austin in 1910. The family moved to 21 Beaumont St Cockton Hill Bishop Auckland in 1910 when John became a paper warehouseman and Mary Monica was born. Before signing up he had two further children Dominick and Josephina. He signed up on 28 October 1915 to the Army Service Corps and given the regimental number 141631.
